Robin Wang (Robin24k), SDR Administrator, Operations

Robin first got into PDAs with a Palm III as a corporate gift from 3Com. The Palm III was replaced by a RIM 950, and several BlackBerries, a Tungsten W, and a Kyocera 7135 later, he settled on the Treo line. The Treo 600 was his first Treo, and after a roundabout across all three major nationwide carriers with that model of Treo, he eventually settled down with carrying both the Treo 755p and Treo Pro to avoid paying for a data plan. With Verizon imposing a mandatory data plan on all smartphones since November of 2008 and Palm dropping Windows Mobile support, his current devices are a Motorola W755 as a phone and an HTC Imagio as a PDA.

Since the recent change of direction within the smartphone industry towards fancy graphical user interfaces and social networking connectivity, Robin has turned his attention away from smartphones and is currently concentrating more on computers and flashlights. His current systems are a Dell Latitude D630 and Dell Optiplex 745, and his primary flashlight is a Maglite XL100. Robin works in the high-tech industry, specializing in computers and networks.

Andrew Moody (Drew), SDR Supervisor, Talent Management

I have been a part of the mobile community since the late 1990’s, starting with a Nokia 918 on TracFone. My involvement has grown since then, not only with the usage of the devices, but also curiosity of the technologies that are available as well. I have always loved the market because it’s never the same from day to day, there’s always a new carrier coming online and one dying off, hoping to retain that one last customer so that they can stay afloat, if only for a few more days, hours, or minutes. Every carrier tries to get an edge on the next provider, and so on. As the market has grown, so have I, from a kid with a phone to a young business man, from a Nokia 918 to a HTC Touch Diamond. I currently work in retail grocery, and as a side job, I’m a supervisor for SDR.
