Smart Device Resource now automagically tweets when a front page post is made. So, it is now you, our loyal friends and followers, who can help us re-fill the interwebs with our knowledge. Remember the old days . . . a little under a year ago when we all gathered at that other site. And we would help the new Treo owners (both Windows Mobile and PalmOS) learn how to use their own devices. . . and then they took that knowledge and taught it to others (Raspberry, Paul I’m looking at you ;) )

We are currently accepting applications for front page writers and look forward to expanding our team! As a member of the SmartDeviceResource team, you will get the opportunity to become a part of this growing community while growing your own knowledge as well. Whether it be smartphones, computers, flashlights, GPS units, or any other smart device, we’re interested!
Please email or PM (Private Message) Drew if you are interested, and include a sample of your writing (reporting on any recent news would be fine). Up for review, we have the Nokia E63 running Symbian S60 v3.5. The phone costs $59 with new two year contract from Plateau Wireless, a regional carrier serving Eastern New Mexico and West Texas. An added bonus of Plateau’s version of this phone is that it is both unbranded and unlocked, making for one slick device without corporate branding anywhere to be seen.

In this follow-up to our Maglite LED product line review, we will be featuring the recently released Maglite XL100 LED flashlight! This is arguably one of the most anticipated, as well as innovative flashlights released recently. The key highlight of this light is motion control variable power setting, which is the first of its kind and makes fumbling through different modes a thing of the past.

Most of us probably have a Maglite of some sort sitting around the house. Known for their superior build quality and durability, Maglite is considered to be the everyday premium flashlight. Right now, I’m sure some of you might be wondering what a flashlight review is doing on SmartDeviceResource, but I assure you, these LED flashlights certainly are “smart” devices!

We’re glad that you’ve found us! Please take a moment to visit our forum and register!
A brief history about SmartDeviceResource (SDR):
Former mytreo.net (MTDN) forum moderators, MiDoJo and Robin24k, spun this site off of MTDN in December of 2009 when we were informed about the imminent closure of MTDN. After spending many years on MTDN, it was hard to let go. Our goal is to relocate the MTDN community to SDR and continue the dedication that MTDN’s community was known for! We hope you will enjoy being a part of this community.

It is a well-known fact that glossy black devices are very difficult to maintain! I have never found the need for extra protection for my devices up until the Treo Pro. Not only is it a fingerprint magnet, it is also very easy to scratch. I managed to scratch the screen with my fingernails, and the battery cover had picked up so many tiny scratches that I shuddered at the thought of placing my Treo Pro on rough surfaces. That’s when I decided to give BodyGuardz a shot.

Finding great deals on eBay has become very alluring to consumers looking to save major bucks in a struggling economy. According to a study performed by the University of Maryland, consumers have saved a cumulative of $19 billion over the years that eBay has been in business. Despite such a positive review, I am sure most of us have heard the typical eBay horror story of not getting what was paid for in the condition it was promised or not getting what was paid for at all. The bad news is that these horror stories do in fact occur; the good news is that the more informed a buyer is, the less likely he or she is to experience such a horrific purchasing experience.
